In this Dharma talk Janne Kukka & Lindsay Sanwald explore both the Buddhist and Yogic teachings on the brahmaviharas. These four "divine abodes" or "sublime attitudes" are cultivated through meditation to promote positive and selfless states of mind. They are: Loving-Kindness (mettā), Compassion (karuṇā), Sympathetic Joy (muditā), and Equanimity (upekkhā). The practice aims to overcome negative emotions and foster social harmony, protect oneself and others, and support spiritual development.
