This hour-long fireside talk led by Lindsay Sanwald (MDiv, Harvard Divinity School) invites participants to explore the rich and enigmatic literature of Jorge Luis Borges, one of Argentina’s greatest literary treasures, through a guided reading of selected short story, The Aleph.

Taught through the lens of meditation, the session will use contemplative practice to deepen our engagement with Borges’ themes of dream, identity, language, infinity, memory, and the mysterious interplay between creator and creation.

Blending close reading, discussion, and moments of reflective stillness, this talk offers a unique way to experience Borges’s philosophical storytelling and his enduring power to expand our sense of reality.
