From psychedelic trials, microdosing, and longevity supplements, bold claims often overshadow hard evidence. How do we know if the effects are real—or just big on tabloids? Two psychedelic researchers share how smart trial design can cut through the noise 🍄
🤓Part 1 – Dr Balázs Szigeti:
Dr Szigeti is a postdoctoral researcher at UCSF (and the creator of the self-blinding method) and explains how placebo effects and broken blinding skew results in clinical trials. Drawing on his research in psychedelic science, he shows why understanding effect sizes and expectancy bias matters for anyone interpreting psychedelic -or longevity - trial results.
🤓Part 2 – Aleksandra Wingert:
Aleksandra presents Microdosing Study 2.0, a do-it-yourself, placebo-controlled study that combines citizen science with lab-based biomarkers like EEG, wearables, cognitive tasks and blood-related markers of immune system response and plasticity. She’ll share what it takes to design rigorous citizen science experiments and how these methods can be applied to supplements and beyond.
The event will include 20-minute presentations from each speaker and a q&a so bring your questions and curious minds 🧠🔍
