A college friend of Bhutan’s King Jigme Wangchuk since their Oxford days nearly 25 years ago, Hoi Trinh was a human rights lawyer & refugee advocate for over two decades before working on the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) project since its inception last year as His Majesty’s personal spokesperson.

Hoi’s reason is simple. He believes in His Majesty’s vision, and more importantly given what’s happening right now in the U.S., his compassionate leadership.

Hoi’s talk will focus not just on how the GMC is envisioned to be a global city of tomorrow but on the man behind the mission and vision. Even before he became king.

Hoi Trinh was born in Vietnam and raised in Australia by his refugee parents before resettling in Southern California with his wife and three children. Hoi did his Laws/Arts degrees at Melbourne University, Australia, Master of Studies at Magdalene College, Oxford University, U.K. and summer fellowship at Stanford University, U.S.
