Eddy Cumins, General Manager of Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) since November 2021, oversees daily transit and freight operations, multi-use pathway development, and rail extensions.

Previously, as Chief Operating Officer at Utah Transit Authority (UTA), he managed 2,234 employees, serving 43 million riders annually across seven counties. His responsibilities included commuter rail, light rail, bus services, and transit police.

Before UTA, Cumins had a 20-year Air Force career in vehicle management and leadership development. He holds a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University and a Bachelor’s in Human Resource Development from Southwestern College.
