There’s a lot of conversation about ways that AI might really deeply alter the world, quite possibly on pretty short timelines. A lot of smart people seem to think the world as we know it might no longer exist in a few years: maybe replaced by something much better, or maybe destroyed in some deeply cataclysmic ending.
This seems…. terrifying. Yet there seems to be surprising little attention being paid to the emotional impact this has on people right now. How do you get through your days if you think we are on the precipice of unimaginable change and/or destruction?
I’d like to pay more attention to this.
In this workshop we will:
Share stories about our emotional experiences surrounding the future impacts of AI
Take some time to sit with and explore the feelings that arise for you as we think about this
Share strategies we use to deal with the emotions around all this, how we live our lives, etc
You are welcome at this whether you are an AI doomer, optimist, skeptic, or anywhere in between
