The session will begin with a brief introduction to the field of machine learning called open-endedness, and describe how it might provide an alternative to the risks of monoculture from epistemically convergent AI assistants. We'll have an open discussion, and then a small-group brainstorming exercise on how to grow and maintain healthy intellectual diversity in the era of LLMs.
