In this trilogy, Preparing for an Asian Renaissance Technology with Michel Bauwens, we learnt about the concept of macrohistory,and the study of history on a large scale, spanning long periods of time, exploring the insights of historical cycles from Western thinkers (session 1 “When are We”).
We learn about the concept of cosmo-local and its logic for reorganising of economic activity & governance outside the aegis of Market and State towards a Commons oriented civilisation (session 2 “The Cosmo-Local Transition”).
In Session 3, our closing session, we look at Cosmo-local with perspectives rooted in Asian based philosophies and thinkers, and indigenous world views & practises. As the global balance of power shifts away from Western domination, we turn our gaze to Asian philosophy of technology and civilisation to explore how we might be able to transcend the crises of modernity.
Michel will be joined by Dev Lewis, Scarlet Zhou, with space for other participants to share. Past attendance is not a prerequisite to join, we welcome everyone.
