This mico-concert will journey through Mileece's spatial sonic experiments, from her initial forays into computer-coded composition, to her groundbreaking work in bio-generative and bioacoustic soundscapes.
In this unique performance, Mileece will take the place of what usually is designated for living plants; animating her custom-designed botanical synthesizers herself, and blending the bio-generative music system she calls "Botanica” in an improvisation featuring live musicians from the gathering.
A special feature of the program is "Life is Never Quiet," an immersive sound experience featuring the nature-inspired words of Evgenia Emets, scored with Botanica and “Natura”, Mileece’s bioacoustic wilderness recordings collected from around the world.
Other highlights include fresh renderings of pieces from her acclaimed debut album of algorithmic composition "Formations" (2002), Mileece's seminal work that marries simple sine wave timbres with nature-inspired algorithmic patterns.
