While zk-rollups are touted as an improvement over optimistic ones, there is nothing zero-knowledge about them, as they rely on cryptography for succintly guaranteeing computational integrity and not for privacy. In this talk we'll go over zero-knowledge privacy-perserving primitives, what makes a rollup a rollup, and how we're bringing both together in Aztec, a private-first L2 for Ethereum.
