In 2026, Rare Earth Mining is destroying our rivers and rights in Myanmar and Northern Thailand. To bring awareness about these issues, we are organizing “Finding Our Wings" event for the general public. Please join us in creating a community of people who care about our rivers and communities.
The event’s first main activity is a panel discussion on the impact of Rare Earth mining on vulnerable communities, especially focusing on women. Second is a presentation on the process of creating an animated short advocacy film by a young environmental defender. Third follows screenings of short animated films from three women creatives who deeply care about protecting our land and people.
This event is organized with the help of EarthRights International Regional Alumni Grant, Burma Concern, & Myanmar Women Environmental and Human Rights Defenders (MWEHRDs) Networking Group. We would also like to thank amazing organizations and community members who are supporting us from the ground. We cannot name them publicly, but we really appreciate your support.
