Fasting is one of those health tools people either swear by or warn you about.
Some people find that a longer break from food steadies their energy, quiets constant hunger, and makes eating simpler. Others sleep worse, feel flat in training, become more preoccupied with food, or discover that the fasting window is solving the wrong problem.
So how do you know what is actually working for you?
At this Zuzalu Longevity Lab, Jason Ryer will lead a practical, experience-driven conversation about fasting without turning it into another diet tribe.
We will explore:
The difference between overnight fasting, time-restricted eating, earlier final meals, intermittent fasting, and longer fasts
The signals that fasting may be helping: energy, appetite, focus, digestion, body composition, and simplicity
The signals that it may be backfiring: poor sleep, low recovery, irritability, cravings, food obsession, or reduced performance
How individual goals and context change the answer
How to design one small experiment that teaches you something useful
Expect a short practical framework, real experiences from the room, moderated discussion, and time for questions. We will focus on everyday fasting and meal timing rather than asking anyone to begin an unsupervised multi-day fast.
You will leave with a clearer way to decide whether fasting fits your goal—and one personal question worth testing.
Led by: Jason Ryer, health optimization and human performance coach who has facilitated fasting programs and personal health experiments.
