Why does order emerge among strangers?
In this MAI Deep Dive session, we will explore that question through Brass: Birmingham, a board game about canals, industries, railways, markets, and coordination. As players build networks, compete for resources, and create shared infrastructure, the game reveals how private actions can produce larger patterns of order.
The session connects the game to real-world systems: markets, organizations, AI ecosystems, and multi-agent systems. We will discuss how coordination, incentives, trust, and connectivity shape the worlds we live in, and why AI can optimize, but civilization requires coordination.
No experience with Brass or board games is required. New players are welcome, and over 100 board games will also be available to explore.
